This weekend Captain Ant is sailing for Jumbo Fluke on both Saturday May 12 and Sunday May 13 sailing at 8am to noon and again from 1pm to 5pm. We are also sailing at 6pm on Saturday night for Night Striped Bass. Mother's can join us for half price on any trip this weekend as a Mother's day gift from the Viking Fleet while accompanied by a partner or child.

2012 Flood Chaser Specials- Back by popular demand!
Target a Trophy!
The Flood Chaser trips are back by popular demand for 2012! We will be taking advantage of the strong night flood tides in the summer once again. These trips produced many trophy bass in the 30 and 40 lb class in 2011. The trip will be limited to 26 anglers and is sailing on the Viking Star. The trip duration is 7hrs, and the exact departure time for each trip has been carefully planned in order to catch the best of the tide. Rigs, jigs and sinkers are included. Bait is provided free of charge and we will provide live eels when available. The price for this trip is $120 per person. The Flood Chaser exact departure dates and times are below:

Rigs and sinkers are sold separately. A $5 rod deposit includes the 1st rig and sinker.

2012 The Viking Block Island Hungry Man Special- All New for 2012!
This is an all new trip for 2012. It is truly a trip for all the diehards! The Hungry Man will target all five summer species and fish the waters from Montauk Point to Block Island. The trip will depart at 4:30am and return at 3:30pm. We will start the day hunting for Bass & Blues at day break. After sunup, it's time to fill coolers with fluke, sea bass and scup. The fare is $140 and the trip is limited to 20 anglers.

FULL MOON 30 FATHOM BREAK ANGRYFISH 2 DAY HUNT
Capts
Rich & Jerry have come up with a special trip that will give a new
meaning to an explosive independence day. This Year we are doing a trip
to the part of the Gulf known as the 30 break. This is where the bottom
depth changes abruptly at 180 feet and creates a hiding place for all of
the big offshore Grouper and Snapper. It can also be home to some
pelagic fish like Wahoo and Blackfin Tuna. The fish the we catch here
are generally larger, angry and meaner than most other places that are
fished in the Gulf because of its distance offshore and availability of
larger baitfish .
This
trip has the potential to become THE most talked about trip of the year
because of the Full Moon, the 30 Fathom break and as of today, March
8th, we will be allowed to keep Gag Grouper and Red Snapper along with
all the other Snapper and Grouper that we normally catch.
The Trip Details Are:
- Depart time: 5pm July 2.
Stop and sabiki extra live bait up until sundown. steam all night and
start fishing in early am hours of July 3 fish all day and night on July
3rd and until noon or so on July 4th.
- Return time: 10 pm July 4
- Fishing depth 180-220 ft
Rod: 7'- 8' heavy duty rod
Reel: 5/0 or larger conventional reel
Line: 80 - 100 pound test line, loaded with 500' of line
Hooks: 8/0 - 12/0 circle style hooks
Sinkers: 8 oz - 16oz egg sinkers, depending on current
Leaders: 100 lb -150 lb test leader material, 200 lb or larger test barrel swivels.

corner! Starting May 1We will be starting our trips from State Pier in New Bedford MA
on May 1. We will be fishing for Porgies and Sea Bass DAILY departing
at 5am and returning at 12noon. On Saturdays and Sundays we will be
sailing on a second trip from 1pm-8pm. As always, if you make the
morning trip on those days you can go back out and fish for 1/2 the
price in the afternoon! The fare this year is $85 and we have fantastic deals for groups.

We will custom design any fishing trip tailored to your needs.The Viking Stariper is the perfect boat for your small group charters. She is licensed by the United States Coast Guard to carry up to 72 passengers. We typically carry a range of 1-25 passengers for your fishing comfort however, we can accommodate your group depending on your trip requirements. The Viking Stariper is one of the very few charter boats in Montauk that is licensed to carry over 6 passengers.

The Viking Gulfstar and The Viking 5 Star are part of the new Viking Charter Fleet. Custom private charters are designed by our Captains to target the species of your choice. For 2010 the Viking Gulfstar is departing from the Viking Dock in Montauk Harbor, and she will be joined early in 2011 by our brand new custom VIking 5 Star, the ultimate boat for private charters.
The Gulfstar is a U.S Coast Guard inspected offshore fishing vessel,rigged for and capable of fishing up to 200 miles offshore. She is 65' in length and 19 ft wide with a huge 20' x 20' fishing cockpit, equipped with a 200 gallon livewell and fish storage for up to 3000 lbs.
She is powered by twin diesel engines capable of over 20 knots cruising speed to reach the fishing grounds quickly.
The large comfortable cabin has lounge seating for 12, is climate controlled with an entertainment system and a full galley capable of preparing gourmet meals. For fishing, she can accommodate up to 44 passengers for a day trip.
The restrooms are air conditioned, well lit and equipped with large mirrors. The sleeping quarters are air conditioned and have a large clean shower. Each berth is 32" wide and 6' 6" long with soft comfortable cushions.
With name brands like Penn, Diawa, Kristal, Star rods, Mustad and Eagle Claw the equipment is second to none. The Manual reels are spooled with Ande Premium monofilament and the electric Kristal reels are filled with Power Pro Braided line. Our deep drop Rods are hand crafted by Handler Custom fishing rods in Cape Canaveral FL.
